Value get a semi
Where we're in the top 4 teams in the country...
Ah, a cup run. Anything can happen (see Forest vs Arsenal, Bradford vs Chelsea, Lincoln vs Burnley, etc...) and from experience anything will happen. So the Value having scraped a 1-0 win against Derby earlier in the season came with spirits high and being fully up for the game.
Right from the off there was a bit of a weird noise in the air - it was almost like a whining noise, and it was pretty constant. After the game, we worked out it was their whole team moaning about every single decision but tbf Milky looked like he was enjoying the game too much. Anyway onto the actual playing of the games, we were actually all over them for 95% of the game, but in true Value tradition of the past we managed to concede a stunning short corner routine that relied on Barrett pinpoint deflecting a ball into the top left corner to take his tally up to 1 for the season, good going mate! Regardless, the Value went up the other end of the pitch and won a short before Cam converted it with aplomb using another rarely seen routine. Afterwards, Olly showed us what we were missing when he was injured and banged one in to make it 2-1 going into half time.
The second half started, and more of the same occurred - constant pressure on the Derby goal and we were rewarded in the second half as Pig reached 20 for the club and Smylie banged one in using the best of his Anti-skill. The only other thing to occur was that one of their better players decided to have a break without troubling the bench, so when the full time whistle went no-one was surprised to see the Value advance to the semis. Facing Anglia Ruskin later on at home, could they go all the way. Stay tuned to find out!
